Under minimal supervision, perform advanced project and analytical work in a wide range of business intelligence activities that to build/enhance capabilities which ensure the uniformity, accuracy, usefulness, and semantic consistency of people/workforce data. Applying effective data management, security, stewardship, and governance processes are keys to success with this work.
Provide complex analysis and recommendations regarding data management and the design of dashboard and reports; including the development/enhancement of enriched datasets that support a variety of business needs (dashboards, visualizations, storyboard design, specialized data requests, automated reports, qualitative analysis, modeling and predictive analytics).
Provide expertise for Stanford-wide complex people/workforce analytic initiatives; ensure initiatives directly fulfill business needs and are delivered on schedule and budget.
Lead data governance efforts for people data, measures and logic and develop the metadata supporting the applicable reporting systems. Partner with Stanford's data governance team to ensure proper inclusion of people/workforce data definitions and governance structures are within Stanford's enterprise Data Governance Center.
Coordinate the evolution/enrichment of a people/workforce data model assuring reporting system development builds upon the existing data foundation and data model conflicts are resolved.
Troubleshoot business intelligence environment problems and opportunities for improvement and coordinate with application team to resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues. Develop mechanisms for improving the efficiency of data collections and refresh processes.
Mentor and support the training of new and existing staff in business intelligence design and development.
Coordinate the planning, development and presentation of training for users of people/workforce analytics.
Mentor, coordinate, monitor, partner with and/or review the work of other information analytics-type staff who work in other departments/units of Stanford
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
A Bachelor's Degree and a proven track record of relevant multi-year experience in managing/transforming large datasets, understanding transactional systems, business processes/workflows and data governance.
Work experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering.
Strong knowledge of analytical and business intelligence programs/languages such as Alteryx, OBIEE, Incorta, Tableau, SQL and advanced skills with MS Office programs (Excel, Powerpoint).
Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design including storyboarding and visualization design
Experience with the application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.
Experience with data visualizations and the capability of presenting these effectively to fufill leadership needs
Strong written and oral communication skills; proven presentation experience and comfort with senior management audiences and effective facilitation skills with diverse groups.
Ability to prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision.

Please note this position will require occasional work on evenings and weekends
The expected pay range for this position is $125,000 - $171,000 per annum.
