Interface with company personnel to produce high-quality technical documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience. Coordinate generation of manuals with outside contract services and inside support personnel. Follow established departmental procedures for generation and control of technical manuals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in hands on generation of technical documentation and perform technical writing duties as necessary for new product maintenance manuals consisting of installation, operation, troubleshooting, and illustrated parts breakdown sections
Maintain/update established documentation
Observe production, developmental and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail or standard practices
Conduct interviews with production and technical staff to gather data for documentation
Import Autocad drawings into maintenance manuals utilizing Adobe Illustrator
Monitor and report status of work in process

Required Skills and Experience
Strong technical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills
Detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and have demonstrated experience in desktop publishing production
Excellent knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Well organized and possesses ability to set priorities based on company objectives
Good judgement and problem solving abilities.
Working knowledge and experience with personal computers using Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Adobe FrameMaker (2017) and Illustrator software
Ability to work a flexible schedule as required to meet deadlines
Minimum 5 years directly related experience
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to climb stairs, walk, sit, stand, file, keyboard for several hours consecutively, see, hear, and speak/understand English. This position works from the Unitron facility.
