This role is focused on keeping the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare’s (CASCW) website up to date, fresh, and easy to navigate. The Web and Digital Specialist is assigned to develop, refresh, and redesign effective and appealing websites and social media content that is user-friendly and representative of the CASCW brand. This position is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Director of Outreach. Working closely with members of the Outreach team, this position serves a key role in disseminating content to stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is someone who is committed to writing clean code, works well individually and as a team, and thinks critically about universal design, accessibility, best practices, and user experience.

Job Responsibilities
Accommodations and Functionality (35%)
Act as the main editor of CASCW’s website
Designs and maintains the layout and navigation of web pages or other interactive media, ensuring that the design meets the needs of the users and matches the guidelines and standards
Works with graphic designer(s) to implement design themes for electronic promotional materials (i.e. CASCW Connect via MailChimp) and special faculty/center products
Monitor performance and results
Identify and evaluate improvement options and introduce new technology
Provide ongoing reports to inform strategies by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Respond to accommodation requests
Attend University of Minnesota Accessibility forums
Maintain, review, and respond to issues with site functionality in a timely manner
Web Implementation (60%)
Update website content, layout, and graphics
Maintain site appearance by enforcing content standards that are brand compliant
Create mock-ups for proposed project pages and update them as needed
Maintain a website auditing process to keep pages up to date
Represent all people in an inclusive and respectful manner
Maintain brand standards while implementing and ensuring accessibility that is inline with current standards and best practices
Other Responsibilities (5%)
Participate in monthly CASCW All-Staff Meetings
Participate in monthly SSW Council meetings
Bi-weekly supervision
Participate in other functions within the community of the School of Social Work, as assigned
Participate in Interculturalist equity, diversity, and inclusivity training
Required Qualifications
BA/BS plus at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least six years
Demonstrated commitment to advocating for an inclusive environment for all backgrounds and identities
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of communications, marketing, social media
Exemplary written and verbal communications skills
A working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, and HTML or other programming management skills
In-depth knowledge and proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, WordPress, Google Analytics, Tableau Data Visualization, and Social Media Tools (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MailChimp and other tools).
Ability to work effectively within brand guidelines
