As a Sr. Instructional Designer, you will manage all key aspects of the instructional design process, from project scoping and planning through course deployment and evaluation. For some projects, you will facilitate the work of external instructional designers, and in others, you will be directly responsible for project-managing the design effort and creating the instructional product. You will be a highly organized master communicator, able to collaborate across all functional areas regarding project materials, substantive subject matters, and deadlines.
What you’ll do in your role:
Manage multiple design projects using sound project management tools and methodologies. Review, evaluate, edit and re-design existing curriculum as needed. Design, pilot and launch new curriculum as needed.
Establish strong working relationships across the Legal department and multiple cross-functional teams. Collaborate with subject matter experts on developing and validating course content. Help subject matter experts distill complex legal topics into digestible learner objectives.
Facilitate and train in-person and virtual instructional courses.
Manage vendor relationships for long-term partnership. Collaborate with vendors on instructional content and course development.
Proactively introduce new training tools and concepts into the training development process. This includes interactive video and audio.
Represent Legal in learning systems implementation at an enterprise level. Work with members of the cross-functional implementation team to meet design goals efficiently, effectively, and within the specified time frame and budget while exceeding stake holders’ expectations.
Embed a strong eye for visual design and communication principles in all deliverables, such as job aids, SharePoint websites, virtual and in-person learning experiences, eLearning, how-to videos, and simplified motion graphics.
Ensure brand guidelines are followed while pushing the envelope in creative development.
The experience you’ll bring:
Intermediate experience successfully implementing the ADDIE model in adult corporate training programs. Knowledge of Bloom’s Taxonomy levels of learning. Knowledge of Kirkpatrick’s Model of training evaluation.
Ability to design detailed workback schedules, manage multiple projects and drive projects forward to meet set timelines. Experience with common collaborative project management tools, like SmartSheets or Monday.com. Ability to succinctly provide reporting updates.
Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Advanced skills creating powerful PowerPoints.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and to distill their training goals into effective training materials.
Experience with common training development tools and ability to adapt to new tools like Articulate 360, Camtasia or Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Adobe After Effects as a nice to have.
Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Guidelines, and Section 508.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Master’s Degree in Education or Instructional Design and Technology preferred.
