Responsible for image management and advanced interactive and graphic design support for The Ohio State University Medical Center. Develops and manages multiple projects from inception to completion using various platforms, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop programs, and SharePoint. Supports organization-wide visual design and environmental graphics projects as assigned.
Position Summary
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing, producing, and managing multiple design projects as assigned by the supervisor and in collaboration with interior design planning; environmental graphics, wayfinding, and marketing and communications colleagues to achieve the goals, objectives, timelines, execution, installations, and budget of OSU Medical Center while maintaining the organizations brand and design standards. This can include but is not limited to interior wall graphics & installations, donor walls, digital content within environments, photo art direction, presentations, signs, etc. The Senior Graphic Designer also brings new ideas to the design and content creation teams to improve efficiency and brand identity. This position works under tight deadlines to produce materials based on an approved production calendar, with specific direction and goal setting provided by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in graphic or visual communication design, interior design, industrial design, architecture or similar
Minimum of 5 year working experience, or equivalent education and experience
Knowledge of environmental branding, interior and exterior surfaces, materials, and production processes, including graphic design, pre-press, printing and photography
Extensive knowledge of typography, composition and color strategy required
Understanding of 3-dimensional space, experiential design concepts and relatable interior codes such as ADAAG is preferred
Previous experience with corporate or organizational brand standards preferred
Experience in a complex organization or multi-site system, a University or academic medical center, or a research environment is preferred
Additional Skills
Experience managing 3rd party vendors and suppliers to develop and finalize solutions is preferred
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and produce quality work within tight timeframes
Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn
Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver), Acrobat, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software programs to create visual materials for print and digital projects
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp is preferred
