Description The Lead Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and managing customer-facing technical collateral focusing on CME Group's award winning CME Globex platform and supporting trading and risk management services while ensuring project quality, and managing project expectations with business owners, developers, and subject matter experts.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain technical content, diagrams, workflows, and other materials to support the company's global internal or external customers (i.e. client system developer content)
Kick-off, facilitate, and drive deliverable creation, review, and finalization cycle to ensure accuracy of content
Ability to gain strong business and technical subject matter expertise in various services and APIs
Act as effective Product Manager for supported services/tools (e.g. customer-facing Confluence/website), as technical and domain expert.
Manage change requests and monitor direct customer feedback to gauge impact and implement content updates
Mentor team members on and improve best practices and processes by researching and applying information architecture and content strategy techniques
Interface with and manage expectations of cross-functional teams
Provide knowledge and project expertise to additional business areas
Deliver and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines

Required Skills:
Minimum of 6 years technical writing or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years systems development experience or equivalent experience writing content for a developer audience
Previous business or systems analysis experience
Exceptional writing, editing and analytical skills, with proven ability to present different styles to best reflect each message with each audience; ability to explain complex or technical concepts in an easily understandable format.
Ability to learn and assess new technologies and effectively transfer practical knowledge
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Experience producing SDKs, or API documentation for customers
Prior Confluence and JIRA experience
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of / experience with financial markets (especially derivatives) preferred
Knowledge of or experience with FIX Protocol, FPML, or FIXML preferred
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform discovery services (BigQuery, Analytics Hub), and Pub/Sub
Prior MadCap Flare experience
