The University of Southern Californiaâs (USCâs) HREC Strategic Communications unit is looking for a talented Visual Graphic Designer to join its team. As a Graphic Designer, youâll be an integral part of the UX and Creative team, collaborating with strategists, writers, and designers to implement the division's communications and creative strategy.
Reporting to the Sr. Visual Designer, the Visual Graphic Designer will work on a range of projects, including infographics, presentations, digital and printed materials, and website assets. The ideal candidate has impeccable design skills, is detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding typography, color theory, and layout.
Job Responsibilities:
Create concepts and execute ideas for projects across a range of formats (digital, web, print)
Design and edit presentations
Produce assets from concept to completion (with an emphasis on color, composition, typography, iconography, and imagery)
Build assets and campaign artwork from existing style guides and artwork
Collaborate with team and stakeholders to implement/ensure consistency with USCâs brand and identity standards
Stay up to date on design trends, techniques, and technology
Build files to specifications with great accuracy and attention to detail
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate for the position of Visual Graphic Designer must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs Degree in graphic design or related field
2 years of relevant experience
Demonstrate a solid sense of design, layout, and typography
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (After Effects and Premiere is a plus)
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work independently and collaboratively
A portfolio of work that demonstrates a passion for design, typography, conceptual thinking, and visual communication
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the position of Visual Graphic Designer has the following qualifications:
Experience with animation, motion graphics, and/or video editing
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS

The hourly rate range for this position is $28.14- $34.49.
