The Role: You are a graphic designer with a focus on data visualization and information design. Experience with D3 or similar code-based tools to visualize data will be highly appreciated. You are comfortable with online chart building tools such Flourish and Rawgraphs.io, and you are an expert of Adobe CC.
You will collaborate with content editors to create compelling ways of presenting Platts wealth of data through charts, maps and infographics. It is your role to make the information easier to understand, through clarity and visual competence. You will be required to work on several projects per day. Time management and a sense of urgency are just as critical as a keen eye for design, data and software skills.
The Team: The Design and Production team is a small, dedicated group based in the UK, Singapore and US producing thousands of graphics a year across nearly 100 different publications and channels.
The Impact: This is a key function in the Platts newsletter business forming part of the Content Operations Group. You participate directly in visual story telling published through a variety of delivery channels and periodical publications.

Proactively collaborate with content editors to shape complex information into dynamic visual storytelling pieces
Use technology and online design tools to design and produce compelling data visualizations, infographics
Manage multiple projects per day and prioritize various deadlines and editorial needs
Meet all relevant delivery deadlines
What We're Looking For: Preferred skills:
You have a combination of technical knowledge and visual design skills to create compelling data visualizations
You are an Adobe Creative Cloud expert
You know how to use Adobe Illustrator charting tool
You are proficient in other industry-standard tools for data visualization like Flourish and RAWGraphs.io
You are comfortable manipulating data in Excel
D3, Tableau, Power BI or others are added advantage
You have created maps using GIS data
You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data visualization, graphic design or journalism
You keep a clear head in a fast-moving newsroom atmosphere
You have experience working with content management systems
You have the self-confidence to make decisions quickly
You seek opportunities to learn new skills and ways of visualizing content
You are personable and able to communicate openly with a variety of people with different needs.
